Announcement: “The Alexicon” Now Has An “X” Account

That’s right. This platform is officially establishing a presence in the turbulent world of social media. I’ve chosen X over, say, Instagram, because the historical side of it tends to be more focused and genuinely curious than what I’ve seen on other social platforms. Also, much of the information which I plan to publish relies heavily on written word, not visuals, and X is most naturally suited to this environment.

Short posts will be made multiple times a week featuring a wide variety of history-related topics, including historical anecdotes, historical reflections and common misconceptions, and historically significant artwork and artifacts. It will span a larger range of time than this website, focusing on late medieval through Early Modern Europe, with included content on arts, philosophy, theology, etc. whenever I feel that it can enrich readers’ understanding of history. I will also attempt to highlight resources from other public history platforms whenever I find something of high quality, as I see no reason to gatekeep quality content. My goal is for people to better understand the past, regardless of if it’s from my platform or someone else’s that they get their content. If you’re learning, then I’m perfectly satisfied.

The account information is as follows:

Name: The Alexicon

Handle: @AlexiconHistory

If you’re interested, feel free to check it out. If not, don’t worry; The Alexicon main website will still remain fully active for your reading pleasure.
